Welcome and thank you for your curiosity!
This website was designed to share my thoughts, support my peers, and let you know how we can work together on what matters most. People are my passion and I believe that, together, we can find a better path forward. My experience is in helping people that help people, and I am in my happy place when helping courageous leaders and teams improve their HOW.
Since growing up in the rural South in a loving and large extended family, getting a degree in Biomedical Science in South Alabama, and having my soul lit on fire through a Nashville Americorps experience in 2001…I have been on a path forward to use everything in my toolkit to improve health and community-wide well-being. In particular I am motivated by a focus on preventing the cause, not just treating the symptoms, which led me to the field and study of public health.
My career has been fueled by purpose and filled with inspiring people, gracious mentors, and collaborators who gave me a chance to develop my perspective, skills, and courage calluses in a variety of settings and roles. Though I have worked on specific health-related topics such as pandemic influenza, HPV, and healthy aging, and in various technical, operational, and strategic roles, I consider myself a process generalist. My expertise is in the HOW.
I am skilled in seeing and building connections in complexity to clarify a path forward. I like details and how they connect as more macro systems and strategy. I believe we need to inspire change and support transition – not just manage it. My energy and urgency come from a core belief in our individual and collective capacity to improve. My family keeps me hiking, grounded, laughing, and reminded of why it all matters. And I’m learning that to show up in the ways that I want to, I have to show up for and improve myself too. I know that this work is the right kind of hard… and it matters.
I’d love to schedule a conversation with you to see if I might be a good fit for the gap you are feeling in capacity, strategy, or inspiration. Let’s connect.
